"Fortitude prevails" means that the strength to endure hardship, pain, or difficulty triumphs, or comes out on top, over other challenges or weaknesses. Fortitude itself refers to mental and emotional strength and courage in the face of adversity. Therefore, when fortitude prevails, it signifies that a person's steadfastness and resilience ultimately win out in a challenging situation.
